Ministry: Russia’s annual inflation slows down to 6.49% as of Mon
MOSCOW, Jul 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s annual inflation slowed down to 6.49% as of Monday from 6.5% as of July 19, the Economic Development Ministry said in a report on Wednesday.
“The contraction of prices for fruit and vegetables that has sped up and the ongoing deflation in the sphere of services continues to exert the key restrictive impact. Prices for food excluding fruit and vegetables remain generally stable,” the report read.
Fruit and vegetables became 7.03% cheaper from July 1 through Monday but they got 7.6% more expensive in the period from January 1 through Monday.
Inflation of food prices amounted to 7.48% in annual terms as of Monday, while inflation of prices for non-food goods stood at 7.75%.
